About Craft-Chocolate

It all started when…

I love being creative. .. making things that people enjoy. So I started Craft-Chocolate to make quality filled chocolate and truffles for friends and family to love. It was the perfect way to combine the my creative aspiration and having joyful interactions with people.

Today, you can find our Craft-Chocolates at our local Alameda shop and through many retailers and grocery stores in the San Francisco East Bay area.

At Craft-Chocolate we strive to make the best products at an affordable price. Chocolate products that taste great and give you a sense of fulfillment = make you happy !

We also care that the chocolate products are as safe as possible.

California Proposition 65:

Par California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also known as Proposition 65, we want to make you aware of the following: 

Most chocolate products contain trace levels of minerals and metals — elements most likely absorbed from the soil through the cacao trees to the beans — including Cadmium and Lead (both heavy metals).

At Craft-Chocolate we do our best to source our base materials from reputable companies with product test results under the maximum allowable dose levels (MADL) according to consumer advocate group’s 3rd party testing.

For awareness sake, you will therefore see these labels on our products:

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including cadmium and lead, packaging products can expose you to chemicals including BPA, all of which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov.

Ethical Concerns:

At Craft-Chocolate we do our best to source our base materials from reputable companies that do not engage in unethical practices, but rather engage in the local communities where cacao is grown, harvested and processed. These companies are known for paying fair wages, providing training, and for building infrastructures including schools and health centers to serve these communities.

Organic:

We use organic products whenever we can, but because we change products weekly, we cannot use “organic” on our ingredient labels as this require prior and price-prohibiting 3rd party testing. That said, we give you the best products possible. Products we gladly consume ourselves.

Comments, Complaints & Recalls

At Craft-Chocolate we are aware that not every chocolate product appeases everyone. If you ever find anything to comment on or complain about, please contact us directly. We will do our best to rectify the issue.

RECALL — If you find that any Craft-Chocolate products may be warranted for a recall, please contact us directly so we can set the recall process in motion for any and all effected products. Just FYI — we have not had to initiate a recall yet, and we work hard to avoid the risk.

Even if the Craft-Chocolate product has not been kept within recommended conditions or has expired, we would still prefer that you tell us of any problems, so we can improve the production process and/or labeling and thereby avoid future problems.
